Bilstein PSS10 Coilover Suspension Kit for F80 M3, F82 M4
The Bilstein PSS10 Coilover Suspension is the ultimate street coilover setup. It combines all of the performance of a high performance coil over, without the compromise in ride quality that you'll find with a Bilstein or KW Clubsport kit. On the road the suspension performs exactly as you would want. It's stiffer than stock but remains comfortable and compliant for everyday driving. The PSS10 kit works well with the F82 chassis, free of any bouncing or unsettled movements following the change to the coil over setup. Ride height is adjustable from -10mm to -35mm (front) and -20mm to -35 (rear) with 10 way adjustable Bilstein shocks/struts. The drop in overall ride height gives our F82 M4 a more streamlined profile. When paired together with the HRE FF01 Flowform Wheels measuring 20x9" front and 20x10" rear they complete a much more aggressive stance that really lets you know the M4 has the performance to back up it's exterior appearance.
Mode Carbon: Carbon Fiber Body Pieces for F80 M3, F82 M4
When it came to enhancing the exterior of our Project F82 M4 we wanted to try something different. While the M4 comes from the factory with aggressive body lines, we felt the M4 was in need of some additional enhancement to really set the car off. On our previous two F80 M3s we installed BMW M Performance carbon fiber pieces to achieve this added presence (front splitters + lower splitter, mirror covers, rear diffuser and trunk lid spoiler). For our first Project M4 we decided to try Mode Carbon's line of F8x carbon fiber exterior pieces to see if they could achieve the same result. The answer to that questions is undoubtedly yes.
For the front of our M4 we chose the Mode Carbon GTS Front Splitter. This two-piece stepped splitter is very aggressive in both its size and appearance. It completely transformed our M4's front fascia from mild to wild. Build quality is good, with a uniform, yet tighter carbon fiber weave than that found in the M Performance carbon front splitters. Overall fitment and finish is equally good. The Mode Carbon Rear Trunk Lid Spoiler is very similar in design to the BMW M Performance part. Even the carbon weave nearly matches BMW's own part. Installation of the trunk lid spoiler is somewhat time consuming yet straightforward, mostly due to the removal of the factory adhesive from the stock trunk spoiler. The final piece in the puzzle is the Mode Carbon Rear Diffuser. It features a different design from the M Performance part, with two larger fins instead of three smaller ones.
The three Mode Carbon pieces really make a significant difference in the way our M4 looks. It elongates the overall profile of the car from front to rear, making it more aggressive and menacing, while also appearing more sleek and streamlined.
Forgeline GA1R Wheels + New England Foliage
To complete our M4's exterior appearance we installed a set of Forgeline GA1r Forged Monoblock Wheels, measuring 20x9.5" front and 20x11.0" rear. They are finished in Transparent Smoke finish. These wheels not only look great on our M4, rounding off the vehicle's aggressive and classy appearance, they also very lightweight and are very strong. Fitment and finish is excellent. A lot has been said about the exhaust note on the M3/M4 - "muted", "too quiet", "uninspired". We felt the same thing when we got our F80 M3 and now with this F82 M4. There's no shortage of complete exhaust systems that will transform the sound, and we love most of them, but we thought there was an opportunity for a mild increase in volume in all modes and at all throttle openings without being forced to buy a complete new system.
It seems like BMW pulled all the tricks in tuning and quieting the S55 engine note - primary cats in the downpipes, secondary cats in the front section, a resonator in the mid section, and a large rear muffler with bypass valves. First we tried opening the muffler bypass valves all the time. This got us a lot of sound, all the time. It was a little too loud for some of us, especially on cold starts. Then we built a section that removed the center resonator. It was louder for sure but the sound was not 'tuned' very well and it had too much drone on the highway.
We next looked at removing the cats located in the front of the exhaust. These are secondary to the main cats located in the downpipes up near the engine and are not monitored by O2 sensors. These cats help the M3/M4 pass the latest emissions standards in California and Europe but the main cats are doing most of the work. If you're tracking your car this section is an obvious place to eliminate a restriction, make the car louder, and lose some weight. We gained engine sound and volume without any drawbacks - there is no drone or rasp or buzz. It seems that the secondary cats are really muting the exhaust note and by removing them we can finally hear the engine note! We think a lot of the criticism of the stock exhaust would not exist if BMW had released the car with this exhaust setup. The only downside is that deleting a catalytic converter is against federal and most state laws, even if you keep a primary cat in place. This does not apply to track or off-road vehicles so we suggest adding this for track use only. The cat-delete is reversible so you can put your stock cats back on at any time.

Pagid Racing Brake Pads - Rear - F22 M235, F30 335i, F32 435i, F80 M3, F82 M4 Yellow RS29:An evolution of the RS19 endurance pad designed for more advanced drivers. This compound combines the outstanding wear rate of the RS19 with a slightly higher coefficient of friction and initial bite. RS29 also features improved hot fade resistance over the RS19.
